An Iconic Estate
Hickory Withe Farm is an architectural gem built by Rick LeBlanc, a seasoned architect lauded for designing visionary custom residential projects.
The main structure is framed by a series of elegant columns, each with an impressive span that reaches from the ground to the roof. Grand galleries extend along the lengths of the front and rear facades. The roof features stately Federal style dormers facing out onto the gardens. Crowning the house is a widow’s walk, offering a magnificent view of the estate’s lush, verdant grounds. Pool/Guest house is 1600 sq ft with full kitchen, bathroom, and living quarters.
The interior showcases a magnificent three-story helix staircase illuminated by a glittering chandelier. Luxurious thick millwork throughout. 3/4 Red oak hardwood floors that were sourced locally for the home. Floor to ceiling windows throughout home offering panoramic views of the estate. Full balcony lines front and back of home. Primary bedroom on second floor with his and her closets and waterfall vanity. Copper lighting system grounding the home. Elevator shaft in place and ready for your choice of elevator to be installed.
Hickory Withe Farm is modeled after Houmas House, a grand antebellum estate known as the crown jewel of Louisiana’s River Road. Completed in 1840 and boasting a dramatic Greek Revival exterior, Houmas House set the standard for southern opulence. Illustrious historical figures such as John Burnside “The Sugar Prince” have called the estate home, and Houmas House was renowned for hosting lavish banquets attended by the cream of southern society.
A long standing icon, Houmas House has served as a filming location for television and film productions, including the award-winning motion picture Hush… Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964). Today, Houmas House is a popular venue for weddings and corporate events, and has been voted the top historic tourist attraction in Louisiana by readers of USA Today.
